About Authors
Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) was a famous British writer of Scottish descent. Stevenson's name first appeared in literature in 1866. In 1873 he became a professional writer. His most famous novel -`Treasure Island` - was published in a separate column in the children's magazine Young Folks under the pseudonym Captain George North, but was published in parts. Interestingly, the first title of the novel was `Court Cook`. The publisher flatly refused to publish a book with this title, and persuaded the writer to change it to `Treasure Island`. Stevenson is also the author of action novels (` The Wrecker`, `The Master of Ballantrae`, `Catriona`) and numerous short stories. Author of historical novels (`The Black Arrow`, `Prince Otto`, etc.), psychological novels, etc.
Ilya Ugnivenko is an illustrator who worked as a teacher at a children's art school in Kyiv. He graduated from the Book Graphics Department of the National Academy of Arts and Architecture. Participant of all-Ukrainian and international competitions, group and personal exhibitions.
